Local pubs and bars such as The Angel in Lune Street are planning a whole weekend of celebrations, starting on Thursday night and going through until Sunday. These celebrations are a direct response to changes in licensing laws which will allow licensed premises and public houses to stay open until 1am on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of April thanks to the Draft Licensing Act 2003. Many other pubs in the city are also planning themed fun days and events, including The Adelphi and Roper Hall.
